Team Gallagher running on EFOY power

If you have been following us closely over recent months you may have noticed the EFOY logo crop up in our list of suppliers on the right hand edge of our home page. EFOY is the name behind our new range of methanol powered fuel cells - the environmentally friendly alternative source of power that will one day change the way designers set up battery charging systems in all RV's and mobile applications. These German made products have been used across the Globe to provide power where traditional sources are either unavailable or just 'too hard basket' to obtain in a stable and reliable format - if you want to learn more about this amazing product simply click the EFOY logo on our home page to be transported through to the main EFOY website where a range of videos are availble to view and explain all about the product concept. Closer to home, you may have seen news coverage of Team Gallagher, a team of four fearless rowers aiming to become the first quartet to row the Tasman sea using the Sydney and Auckland Harbour bridges as their start and finsih points. Included in the quartet is James Blake, son of that great Kiwi icon, Sir Peter Blake. Confronted with the challenge of finding enough power to feed their electrical and communication installation the team turned to EFOY after a chance conversation with Team Alinghi (of America's Cup fame). Team Alinghi had used an EFOY Fuel Cell to power an onshore weather station during a previous campaign and for Team Gallagher this was the perfect solution to a problem that had been consuming the midnight oil without an apparent cure in sight. In conjunction with EFOY, we have teamed up with Team Gallagher to install an EFOY Comfort 140 and three ten litre methanol fuel cartridges onboard the boat in order to ensure they have comfortably enough power in reserve to see them home under the Auckland Harbour Bridge - hoepfully before Christmas Day. Yesterday the team reported that after some shocking weather and many days under sea anchor they have finally crossed the half way mark in their epic journey and you can follow their progress at www.teamgallagher.co.nz. Alternatively we will be posting updates on their progress to our Facebook page - so simply click the Facebook logo on our homepage to join the Facebook followers.
